We wrapped up our first full week of school with our Back-to-School Assembly! It was a great way to come together, celebrate being back, show some school spirit, and kick off an amazing year at North Layton Jr. High!

Mrs. Stumo — Principal
Mr. Roper — Assistant Principal
An assistant principal, but always a math teacher at heart! And yes, he’s 6'4" — everyone asks.

Former chemistry teacher at Northridge High School and recently became a grandma!
Mr. Jones — Spanish Teacher
Amy Young — School Counselor
She loves hiking and is currently the counselor for students with last names P–Z.

He loves the outdoors, especially fishing and camping.

A huge sports fan who is obsessed with the Chicago Cubs!

7th Grade Longhorn Camp
Wednesday, August 5, 2026
Get ready to kick off your Longhorn journey! Join us for an exciting camp designed to help incoming 7th graders feel confident, connected, and ready for success at North Layton Junior High. Students will enjoy a Welcome to NLJH Kickoff, take a campus tour, participate in a Q&A session, learn what to expect as a 7th grader, and review important device expectations. Come meet new friends, get your questions answered, and start the school year with confidence. We can't wait to welcome you to the Longhorn family!

Join Davis Reads 45 this summer! Students are challenged to read for 45 days, earning prizes every 5 days and a special end-of-summer event for those who complete the challenge. Pick up books during summer library hours. Families should check with their local elementary school for specific days and times. Regular summer reading helps prevent learning loss and supports continued academic growth. Contact your school or library to get started!

Davis School District has partnered with Waterford Upstart to provide our PreK children with an on-demand early learning program that gives you tools, coaching and resources so you can prepare your child for a bright future.
Program Benefits:
• Tailored software with fun and engaging lessons in reading, math and science that are done in just fifteen minutes a day
• Personalized family coaching and easy-to-use resources that support the work you’re already doing with your child
• A computer and internet access for those who qualify
